Employment Law

David Tyme has been a practicing solicitor for more than twenty years.  He joined Johns & Saggar in August 2011.  Prior to joining us, David worked for two leading employment law practices namely, Thompsons and Webster Dixon LLP.  David has a wealth of employment law experience and represents both employers and employees in relation to contentious and non-contentious employment matters. David has advised and represented clients in relation to complaints before the Employment Tribunal on grounds of, for example:

  • Unfair dismissal 
  • Discrimination
  • Harassment
  • Redundancy and breach of contract 

David also represents clients in relation to appeals to the Employment Appeal Tribunal.

In relation to non-contentious matters David has represented senior personnel in negotiating termination packages and Compromise Agreements. David has  been instructed to provide advice and assistance to Human Resources Departments concerning the implications of TUPE arising from a successful tender to provide services, and also to provide advice on issues arising from business reorganisation and the implementation of a mass redundancy program. David also advises on the terms of contracts of employment and workplace policies.

David advises and represents clients in relation to professional misconduct proceedings before the Health Professions Council, General Social Care Council and other regulatory bodies. 

David has been a regular contributor to the New Law Journal publication on a range of topics including religious and sexual orientation discrimination and territorial jurisdiction. 

David as a member of the Employment Law Association has been a working party member and has assisted in the compilation of submissions in response to proposed employment law reform.

David is a keen cricketer and football fan, and enjoys reading autobiographies.
